Zero : Contemporary Buddhist Life And Thought Volume III [Joni Mitchell]

Edited by Eric Lerner, this third issue of Zero (1979) is devoted to contemporary Buddhist thought, poetry, music, and culture. Among its features is an edited interview with Joni Mitchell, adapted from a conversation conducted by Canadian journalist Malka Marom. Also included are an interview with John Cage, lyrics by Leonard Cohen from Recent Songs, an essay on Charles Mingus, and Hiroshi Murakami's translation of poems by Kūkai.

Contributors include Gregory Bateson, Joshu Sasaki, Stephen Mitchell, Allen Ginsberg, Anne Waldman, John Ashbery, and others. Ginsberg contributes an excerpt from a Naropa Institute lecture "A Collage Of Haiku, Kerouac's Spontaneous Writ, Zengakuren Couplets, Tibetan Mind-Training Slogans, And Blake's Augeries".
