Notes

This volume contains a community history of the town of McLennan (in northern Alberta’s Municipal District of Smoky River #130) and its surrounding districts. The book opens with historical overviews of McLennan and the town’s relationship to Alberta’s railways (incl. Northern Alberta Railways Company). Topical sections on local churches, public and private schools, agriculture, organizations, sports teams, and services (incl. Sacred Heart hospital, 1929-1973) follow. The final two thirds of the book contain family histories contributed by area residents.
