Notes

In this memoir, Ralph Edwards recalls his years as a guide, packer, trapper, and prospector in the Canadian Rockies after arriving in western Canada in the 1880s. Drawing on his experiences with early mountaineers, explorers, and outfitters, he records the development of the Banff and Lake Louise region while describing travel through some of the mountain landscapes that would later become Canada's best-known national parks.
