Educated in Manitoba and employed as a preacher in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Tommy Douglas (1904-1986) became a prominent prairie politician. He served five terms as Premier of Saskatchewan and was leader of both the Co-Operative Commonwealth Federation and New Democratic Party. This volume contains excerpts from 35 speeches given by Douglas throughout his political career. The speeches demonstrate Douglas’ politics, expressing his stance on topics such as socialism and civil rights.
