Notes

This volume contains a community history of the town of Rockglen (located in Saskatchewan's Rural Municipality of Poplar Valley #12) as well as the smaller locales of Kildeer, Canopus, Fife Lake, Lisieux, Scout Lake, and the Wood Mountain Plateau region. The opening chapters move from geological history (situating fossils found in the area within a 600 million-year chronology) to anecdotes of pioneer life, interspersed with drawings and illustrations. Historical accounts of settlers in the area follow, as well as short histories of local schools, churches, sports/recreation, and a small coal mining operation. The balance of the text consists of family histories contributed by area residents.
