Notes

This collection examines the history and legacy of Treaty Land Entitlement in Saskatchewan, with particular attention to the Treaty Land Entitlement Framework Agreement signed in 1992 at Wanuskewin Heritage Park. The agreement established a process through which 33 Saskatchewan First Nations could acquire land to address outstanding treaty land entitlements. Bringing together perspectives from Elders, First Nations leaders, academics, youth, and artists, the contributors explore the history of the Treaties, the development of Treaty Land Entitlement, and its continuing significance. Contributors include Danny Musqua, Robert Innes, Noel Starblanket, Neal McLeod, Howard McMaster, Chief Marie-Ann Daywalker-Pelletier, Harry Swain, Doug Cuthand, Jarita Greyeyes, and Mitchell Poundmaker.
