Houston and Street combine their own field observations with the recorded sightings of earlier naturalists—including John Richardson, Thomas Drummond, Eugène Bourgeau, Eugène Coubeaux, Russell Thompson Congdon, and others—to present a continuous historical record of species occurrences in the region.
