Notes

Spalding: Roots and Branches is a community history of the central Saskatchewan village of Spalding, the hamlet of Daphne, and the surrounding school districts of Champlain, Chelton, Clearview, Kingscourt, Lake Edward, Little Stone, Rose Bush, Sunnyview, and Westasta Valley. The volume includes short chapters on local institutions and organizations, such as the Village Office, hospital, Board of Trade, Spalding Rural Telephone Co. Inc., Saskatchewan Farmers’ Union (Westasta Local), Reynold Rapp Museum, Spalding Literary Society, Spalding Branch No. 348 of the Royal Canadian Legion, library services, the Spalding 4-H Club, the White Dove Society, the cooperative movement, and local sports and resorts. These institutional sketches are brief, with the majority of the book devoted to family histories contributed by area residents. An Honour Roll and an Index are included.
