Notes

Published from 1948 until 2017, “Saskatchewan History” magazine showcased both scholarly and general interest work on diverse figures, groups, and events in the province’s past. As a publication of the Saskatchewan Archives Board, the magazine invited submissions from archivists, librarians, and academics. Issues may contain scholarly articles, book reviews, archival reports, and reminiscences. This volume includes material on the Midland Battalion’s journey to the Battle of Batoche, remembrances of Saskatoon during the Great Depression, and an account of Murdoch MacKinnon’s 1910s feud with Premier Walter Scott regarding religion, cultural assimilation, and schooling. A two-page letter promoting a Grant MacEwan lecture tour and an advertisement for “Pages From the Past” (written by D. H. Bocking, editor of “Saskatchewan History) are laid in.
