Saskatchewan Heroes & Rogues

Written by Ruth Wright Millar, longtime librarian and local historian formerly with the Saskatoon Public Library’s Francis Morrison Branch, this volume presents biographical sketches of twelve remarkable yet often overlooked figures with Saskatchewan connections.

Moving beyond the province’s better-known personalities, Millar profiles individuals whose lives were marked by adventure, ingenuity, and controversy. The subjects include Kathleen Rice, Ernest Dufault (better known as Will James), Charlie Parmer, Big Tom Hourie, Norm Falkner, Morris “Two-Gun” Cohen, Jean Ewen, Gladys Arnold, Father John Claffey, Joan Bamford Fletcher, Emma Woikin, and Richard St. Barbe Baker.
