Grant MacEwan (1902–2000) was a distinguished Canadian author, historian, and public servant. Born John Walter Grant MacEwan, he was a farmer, professor at the University of Saskatchewan, and later Dean of Agriculture at the University of Manitoba. His career in public life was equally notable—serving as the 28th Mayor of Calgary, a Member of the Alberta Legislature, and the ninth Lieutenant Governor of Alberta.
