Notes

A Comprehensive History of Motor Vehicle Licensing in Saskatchewan, 1905–1990.
An in-depth and meticulously compiled chronicle detailing the evolution of motor vehicle license plates in Saskatchewan from the early years through 1990. The work provides information on a wide array of plate types, including early home-made and porcelain issues, flat and wire-reinforced plates, embossed varieties, base plates with metal validation tabs, as well as size variations and other flat styles. Also covered are slogan plates, personalized ("vanity") plates, and numerous other specialized types.

At times the book will include annual issuance figures, categorizing plates by type—such as Motors, Trucks, Livery, Dealer General Livery, Dealers, Chauffeur, Motorcycle, and Garage plates. Of historical interest is Appendix A: "List of Automobile Licenses Issued Up to 1911", providing a rare glimpse into the earliest days of registration. Appendix B offers a survey of "Personalized License Plates", while Appendix C documents the "Saskatchewan Plate Colours" through the years. An index is included.
