Notes

Formed in Alberta in 1937, Lethbridge Petroleum Limited was one of a small group of interconnected firms that included Lethbridge Petroleum & Mines Ltd. and Lethbridge Petroleum Refineries Ltd. Together they reflected regional efforts to develop local petroleum and refining ventures during the prewar and postwar expansion years. Little contemporary record of their activities survives, and all three companies were eventually struck from the Alberta corporate register in 1971, closing a modest chapter in the province’s independent oil enterprise history.

Notes historical summary adapted from the Petroleum History Society (Calgary, Alberta), “Old Oil Companies” reference.
