Notes

Stewart Cameron (1912-1970), an artist born and raised in Calgary, he developed an early passion for drawing, submitting his works to the Calgary Herald while still in high school. He honed his skills at Mount Royal College for two years and briefly worked at Disney Studios in Hollywood before joining the Calgary Herald as a full-time editorial cartoonist in 1936.

During World War II, he served in the army, upon his return, he resumed work at the Herald. In 1947, Cameron moved to Vancouver to work for The Daily Province, but he was forced to return to Calgary in 1949 due to health issues. Over the next several years, he continued freelancing and published several collections of his cartoons.
