From Saskatchewan Homemakers’ Kitchens (1955) is a Golden Jubilee cookbook compiled by the Saskatchewan Homemakers’ Clubs (later the Saskatchewan Women’s Institutes). It gathers over 300 traditional prairie recipes—soups, breads, preserves, mains and desserts—contributed and hand‑illustrated by club members across the province. The book showcases the frugal, resourceful cooking style of mid‑20th‑century rural families and serves as a cultural snapshot of community collaboration and prairie life.
