Notes

A local history of the Writing-On-Stone district in southeastern Alberta, encompassing the region east of Milk River, with particular reference to lands lying north and south of Highway 501, extending as far as Verdigris Lake, a minor tributary of the Milk River. This volume contains a series of concise chapters on Masinasin country, archaeology in the Masinasin area, Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, rural post offices (Masinasin, Allerston, Kippenville), municipal governance, coal mining, oil exploration, agricultural practices, schools, churches, and community sports and recreation.  A significant portion of the work is dedicated to family histories of area residents.
