Notes

From Oxen to Airplane: Mantario 1908–1950 records the development of the Mantario district in southwestern Saskatchewan, within the Rural Municipality of Chesterfield No. 261. Beginning with the geography of the region and the period before agricultural settlement, it follows the establishment of the community through the experiences of early homesteaders and the growth of local farming.

The history extends beyond settlement to document the institutions and organizations that served the district, including schools, churches, women's groups, recreation, transportation, municipal affairs, and the village of Mantario itself. An Honour Roll is included, together with a section on local folklore, while the final twelve pages preserve advertisements placed by regional businesses.
