Notes

Albert Lacombe (1827–1916) was a Roman Catholic missionary whose long career shaped much of early western Canadian religious, cultural, and political life. Working among Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, and settler communities, he combined missionary work with diplomacy, travel, and institution-building, becoming a trusted intermediary in moments of conflict and change across the Prairies and foothills.

MacGregor’s biography provides a full portrait of the influential figure.
