This large, thick volume contains a community history of the region surrounding the village of Codette and former town of Pontrilas (in Saskatchewan’s Rural Municipalities of Nipawin #487 and Connaught #457). The book opens with a historical overview of the area’s settlement and the founding of Codette and Pontrilas, as well as topical chapters on local schools (incl. Nipawin Bible Institute), churches (incl. burial listings for Elkhill Cemetery #1 and Pontrilas Cemetery, clubs, recreation and sports, and municipal services. An Honour Roll and chapter on the Nipawin Hydroelectric Station are also included. The balance of the volume contains family histories contributed by area residents.
