Volume One the first in the two-volume history of communities in the Manitou Lake area (south of Lloydminster near the Saskatchewan/Alberta border) is organized by school district, with each section containing historical overviews of towns/schools followed by family histories contributed by area residents. Volume One includes family histories from Artland, Beechwood, Booth and Unwin, Brady, Cliffe, East Manitou, Euclid, Fram, and Learig. This volume also includes chapters on "The First People" and "The History of Our Land: Marsden-Neilburg," as well as a 100-page "General Categories" section describing local agriculture, aviation, churches, Manitou Lake (including services and parks), municipalities, health, recreation, and wildlife.
