Notes

A  local history chronicling the rural communities situated between the North Saskatchewan River (to the north) and the Battle River (to the south), with the eastern boundary defined by the town limits of Battleford and the western extent reaching the Sweetgrass Indian Reserve.

Divided into four sections—Eight Mile, Lake Highgate, Tulip, and Winding River—corresponding to the historical school districts of the area, each part opens with a historical account of the local school, followed by a compilation of family histories contributed by residents.
