Notes

A history of Arcola, Saskatchewan, tracing the development of the town and its surrounding district from early settlement through the mid-twentieth century. The booklet surveys the growth of civic and social institutions, with concise chapters devoted to schools, churches, municipal government, and the Board of Trade. It also records the community’s experience during the Depression and the impact of the First and Second World Wars. Agricultural life is represented through accounts of local fairs and the Moose Mountain Livestock Association.

Brief sketches of several early homesteaders are included to illustrate the district’s pioneer beginnings. No extended family histories appear in this work.
