This volume comprises a history of Wakaw and surrounding areas (in Saskatchewan's Rural Municipalities of Fish Creek #402 and Hoodoo #401), including the following school districts: Belmont, Bonne Madone, Buda, Bukowina, Carpenter, Crooked Lake, Dubois Lake, Dunafoldvar, Ens, Kolomyia, Lone Pine, Minatinas, Sniatyn, Sokal, St. Jude, St. Julien, Wakaw, and Zalischyky. The book opens with a historical overview of the two municipalities and the locales of Lepine, Carpenter, and Wakaw Lake resort. Chapters on the Carlton Trail (an overland trail used by settlers and First Nations groups) and local businesses, churches, hospitals, schools, and sports teams and organizations also appear.
