Notes

Glidden: Our District is a local history booklet covering Glidden, Saskatchewan, a hamlet in west-central Saskatchewan located a short distance south of Kindersley, within the Rural Municipality of Newcombe No. 260. The booklet brings together historical essays contributed by area residents, reflecting on life and settlement in the district. It also includes a list of homesteaders with land locations and dates of filling, along with a chronological record of significant events in the administration of the rural municipality.

Please note that this booklet does not contain family histories, with the exception of “Mrs. Genge’s Story” and a brief family account by Mrs. Armstrong (Vernette Akeley), granddaughter of Mr. Glidden, for whom the settlement was named.
