He identifies the explorers, pioneers, and First Nations individuals who created the trails, explores the motivations and circumstances of those who used them, and contextualizes each travel artery within a larger picture of exploration, settlement, and conflict. While the volume focusses on Saskatchewan trails, the journeys that it recounts involve travel and migration across Canada.
