Notes

A detailed early 20th-century scientific study examining the hydroelectric potential of the major river systems across the Canadian Prairies and northern territories. Denis and Challies provide assessments of the Winnipeg, Red, Assiniboine, Nelson, Saskatchewan, North and South Saskatchewan, Milk, Bow, Athabaska, Peace, Slave, Churchill, Yukon, Coppermine, Hood, Dubawnt, Ferguson, and Kazan Rivers, along with many of their tributaries. The work evaluates flow rates, drainage areas, and topographical features in order to identify sites suitable for the development of water power for mechanical and electrical generation.
