Wanuskewin Heritage Park is a National Historic Site of Canada located north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As a gathering place for Northern Plains First Nations groups over the past 6000 years, Wanuskewin preserves Northern Plains history and culture. The book describes the Park’s formation, layout, and heritage goals, then explains archaeological discoveries made at the site. Illustrations and photos accompany descriptions of First Nations life and experiences, focussing particularly on the bison’s centrality to Northern Plains existence.
