Notes

First-person account of cowboy life on the Canadian range in the early 20th century. As a young man, Graber rode for the Matador Land and Cattle Company near present-day Kyle, Saskatchewan, during 1920 and 1921—the final years of the Company’s Canadian operations. He recounts the historic last roundup, driving a 3,500-head herd from the Matador’s Canadian range to its U.S. division near Harlem, Montana.
