Notes

This community history documents the Gilbert Plains region of Manitoba, an area approximately thirty miles square, bordered by the Duck Mountains to the west and the Riding Mountains to the east, and traversed by the Drifting Valley and Wilson Rivers. The volume includes chapters on early pioneers, churches and education, the development of Gilbert Plains Township, early businesses, agriculture, lodges and community organizations, as well as significant local events such as floods and fires. Also featured are an Honour Roll and a small selection of biographical profiles of area residents.
