Memories Of Shand : History Of A Saskatchewan Coal Mining Community

A local history of Shand, a small settlement in southeastern Saskatchewan, situated just east of Estevan and now known as the site of a major coal-fired power-generation facility. The volume comprises a collection of reflective essays on the community’s past, documenting its origins, coal-mining heritage, and social life.
