Notes

A local history of Shand, a small settlement in southeastern Saskatchewan, situated just east of Estevan and now known as the site of a major coal-fired power-generation facility. The volume comprises a collection of reflective essays on the community’s past, documenting its origins, coal-mining heritage, and social life. Included is a substantial twenty-page selection of reprinted newspaper articles from the Estevan Mercury, along with a brief section of obituaries of former Shand residents and a compiled listing of individuals who once lived in the settlement. Concludes with a bibliography. Notably, the work does not contain family histories.

The catalogue record of the University of Saskatchewan’s Murray Library indicates a publication date of 1992.
