Notes

Lanigan 1905–1955 was published in 1955 to commemorate Saskatchewan’s Golden Jubilee. The booklet traces the early development of the community through a series of short chapters titled 1900, 1904, Homesteaders 1905–06–07, Sporting Highlights 1910–1914, The Churches of Lanigan, Cultural Life, Influenza, Chautauqua, Cyclone, 1920’s, The Agricultural Society, Co-operatives, The Stories of the Fires of Lanigan, Schools, Newspapers, and Sports 1945–1955. The material was compiled through correspondence with the oldest living members of the community, as well as group interviews and informal conversations, resulting in a firsthand account of Lanigan’s first fifty years.
