Notes

Karim W. Nasser was born in Lebanon and relocated to North America in 1951 to further his education, receiving a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1965. In 2005, Nasser – together with his daughter, May – wrote “How I Achieved My Dream,” a memoir of his early years in Lebanon to 1949. Here, Nasser continues his life’s story up to his retirement in the 1990s. He dedicates several chapters to studying and teaching in Kansas and Pennsylvania, as well as managing jobs at two Canadian companies. Most of the volume, however, concerns his life after arriving in Saskatoon. With candor, Nasser describes his career as a professor, business and entrepreneurial endeavors, and interactions with family and friends in Canada and abroad. Throughout, he emphasizes the value of hard work, thoughtful decision-making, and helping others.
