Notes

This volume contains a family history of Abraham Friesen, his first (Catharina) and second (Margarete) wives, and their descendants. Friesen immigrated from Europe to Saskatchewan in 1894. The volume begins with a history of the Friesen family in nineteenth century Prussia, an account of Abraham and Margarete’s journey to Canada, and a brief chapter on Abraham’s career as a Mennonite preacher. The book then presents the histories and family trees of eighteen descendants from Abraham and Catharina/Margarete’s lineage: Abraham, Agathe, Albert, Catharina, Elise, Emma, Emil, Ernest, Hedwig, Jacob, John, Margarete, Marie, Martha, Paula, Peter, Richard, and Robert.
