7 Generations : A Plains Cree Saga

A graphic novel tracing the history of one Plains Cree family from the early nineteenth century to the present. The work moves across generations to depict key moments in Indigenous experience on the Prairies.

The story begins with Stone, a young Cree warrior, and proceeds through the upheavals of the smallpox epidemic of 1870 and the enduring trauma of the twentieth-century residential school system. In the contemporary strand, a young man named Edwin looks to the lives of his forebears to understand his own circumstances and responsibilities.
