Notes

Volume XXVIII of the Hudson’s Bay Record Society, this edition presents Peter Skene Ogden’s day-by-day journals from his 1827–28 and 1828–29 expeditions in the Snake Country—an area centred on the Snake River Basin in what is now  Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. Edited by Glyndwr Williams, with an introduction by David E. Miller and David H. Miller, the volume documents Ogden’s fieldwork as a Hudson’s Bay Company trader and offers a primary account of the Company’s role in the Anglo-American fur trade.
