A lush photographic survey of Barbra Streisand’s Malibu estate and its development, documenting the design and construction of the principal residence and its ancillary buildings, collections, interiors, and gardens. Streisand discusses her interest in American domestic architecture and decorative arts from the eighteenth through twentieth centuries, with chapters devoted to furnishings, antiques, textiles, lighting, and architectural detail. The library design draws upon the work of Greene & Greene, while the area she terms the “Mackintosh Hall” reflects the influence of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Illustrated throughout with colour photographs taken by Streisand.
