Ian Clarke examines the structure and use of the landscape and outbuildings; Lyle Dick traces the structural history of Motherwell’s 1887 fieldstone house; and Sarah Carter examines the materials used in its construction. The studies draw on archival photographs, maps, drawings, and documentary research, providing detailed records of the homestead’s architecture, landscape, and material history.
