Notes

This is a community history devoted to the district west of Buffalo Lake in central Alberta, near present-day Bashaw. The book documents the development of the rural settlements of Lamerton, Tees, and Mirror, along with the school districts of Nebraska, Drake, Lake Bend, George, Rutherford, Ellice, Gadsby Lake, and Hickling.

In addition to numerous family histories contributed by area residents, the volume includes essays and historical sketches addressing the region’s early period prior to settlement, as well as accounts of country stores, post offices, churches, and local anecdotes.
