Garrett Wilson (1932-2017) A lawyer, author, and lifelong advocate for Saskatchewan, Garrett Wilson was born in Limerick, Saskatchewan, in 1932 and spent most of his life in Regina, where he practised law and wrote extensively on the province’s political and social history. A Queen’s Counsel and former president of the Saskatchewan Book Awards, Wilson combined a deep understanding of prairie life with an insider’s view of its legal and political world. His enduring passion for Saskatchewan—its people, landscape, and history—found expression in both his professional work and his many books of fiction, biography, and regional history.

Guilty Addictions : A Political Mystery. In this taut political thriller, young lawyer Oxford LaCoste finds himself entangled in a deadly investigation following the sudden death of his friend and client, cabinet minister Ben Forsyth. Appointed executor of Forsyth’s estate and charged by the government to recover fifteen million dollars gone missing with the minister’s demise, LaCoste uncovers a trail of corruption involving secret accounts, bribery, and murder. As the search for truth threatens his own safety, he must decide how much he is willing to risk to expose the scandal. Set against a vividly drawn Saskatchewan political backdrop, Guilty Addictions combines the authenticity of Wilson’s legal experience with the pace and tension of a classic mystery.
