Notes

Fourteenth edition of this early veterinary manual, first published in 1802. Devoted almost entirely to the care and treatment of horses, the work covers stable management, feeding, exercise, training, shoeing, and the management of horses during travel. Extensive sections address equine anatomy and physiology, together with a wide range of diseases and disorders affecting the respiratory, digestive, urinary, nervous, and circulatory systems. Additional chapters discuss glanders, farcy, strangles, diseases of the eyes and mouth, lameness, wounds, poisons, surgical procedures, and disorders of the hoof and foot.
