Condition

Volume I. Ownership bookplate on the front pastedown. Fore-edge tear to the half-title mended; fore-edge corners bumped and creased, with the upper fore-edge corners of numerous leaves similarly creased. Chart titled Discoveries in the Arctic Sea, 1819–54 tipped in, with tears (amateurishly mended) and stained. Occasional tissue guards absent. Scattered mild foxing throughout.

Volume II. Ownership bookplate on the front pastedown. Many leaves creased at the crown along the inner margin. Occasional tissue guards absent. Scattered mild foxing throughout.

Bindings with numerous abrasions, stains, and surface scars exposing the boards.
